Eight Mile Plains Bathroom & Laundry Renovation

Finished Eight Mile Plains bathroom with fluted timber vanity and wall mounted basin mixer

Looking for inspiration for a bathroom and laundry renovation in Eight Mile Plains? This recent Hunter Bathrooms Brisbane project transformed a dated main bathroom, separate toilet, laundry and adjoining floor areas into a calm, cohesive set of wet spaces with modern finishes and a much cleaner everyday flow.

The original rooms had pale blue tiles, older cabinetry, a framed shower screen and finishes that no longer suited the home. By updating the bathroom, laundry, toilet and hallway flooring together, the renovation created a consistent look across the practical areas of the house while adding better storage, improved usability and a warmer material palette.

The Challenge: Updating Multiple Wet Areas With One Cohesive Finish

This Eight Mile Plains home needed more than a simple cosmetic refresh. The bathroom layout included a built-in bath, older vanity and enclosed shower, while the laundry and separate toilet also needed to feel more finished and functional. The existing hallway tiles also made the surrounding area feel disconnected from the new wet spaces the owners wanted to create.

The goal was to modernise each room without making the finished renovation feel busy or mismatched. The clients wanted practical storage, better bench space, a more inviting bathroom and a laundry that felt like part of the home rather than a purely utilitarian room.

The Solution: A Bathroom, Laundry and Toilet Renovation That Works Together

Hunter Bathrooms Brisbane used a soft, warm grey palette to bring the main bathroom, laundry, toilet and hallway areas together. Large-format stone-look tiles now run through the wet areas, giving the renovation a more spacious and unified feel while keeping the surfaces practical and easy to maintain.

Brushed bronze fixtures were used throughout the bathroom and laundry to add warmth against the grey tiles and white benchtops. Timber-look cabinetry brings natural texture into the rooms, balancing the clean tiled surfaces and helping the finished spaces feel modern without becoming cold.

Main Bathroom Renovation

The main bathroom now feels brighter, softer and more refined. The old built-in bath was replaced with a clean back-to-wall bath, creating a more sculptural focal point while still keeping the room practical for family use.

A new floating timber vanity with fluted drawer fronts, a white benchtop and an above-counter basin adds storage and visual warmth. The arched mirror, round wall light and wall-mounted tapware give the vanity wall a polished, contemporary finish.

The shower was also upgraded with a glass screen, brushed bronze shower fittings and a built-in niche edged to match the tapware. This keeps everyday products neatly stored while maintaining the clean lines of the tiled walls.

Laundry Upgrade With Better Storage and Bench Space

The laundry was redesigned to be much more useful day to day. A long stone-look benchtop now runs across the appliances, creating generous folding and sorting space while keeping the washing machine and dryer neatly tucked underneath.

Timber-look cabinetry provides concealed storage, while the inset laundry sink and brushed bronze mixer keep the working area streamlined. A grey subway tile splashback adds subtle texture and connects the laundry visually with the bathroom’s warm neutral palette.

The storage cupboard was also refreshed with sliding doors and internal shelving, making the laundry more practical for cleaning supplies, baskets and everyday household storage.

Separate Toilet and Hallway Flooring

The separate toilet was given the same clean treatment, with fresh floor tiles, simple white walls and a new toilet suite for a neat, low-maintenance finish. Carrying the same tile into the adjoining hallway helped connect the renovation to the surrounding parts of the home.

Materials and Finishes

The finished renovation uses a balanced palette of warm neutrals, timber texture and brushed bronze details. Key features include:

  • Large-format warm grey stone-look tiles across the bathroom, toilet, laundry and hallway floor areas.
  • Back-to-wall bath for a softer, more modern bathroom focal point.
  • Floating fluted timber vanity with an above-counter basin and wall-mounted tapware.
  • Arched mirror and round wall light to soften the vanity wall.
  • Glass shower screen and built-in shower niche for a cleaner, more practical shower zone.
  • Brushed bronze fixtures and accessories used consistently across the bathroom and laundry.
  • Timber-look laundry cabinetry with a long benchtop, inset sink and grey subway tile splashback.

The Result

The finished Eight Mile Plains renovation is calm, practical and cohesive. Instead of separate rooms with different finishes, the home now has a connected bathroom, laundry, toilet and hallway area that feels fresh, warm and easy to live with.

From the new vanity and bath through to the laundry storage and matching floor tiles, each detail works together to make the home’s most functional spaces feel more considered and complete.
